This just a quick list of some articles that are on my to-read list:

I found this video while surfing, it is an amazing Christmas lights display. Someone spent waaaay tooooo much time on this, but it is worth watching since it is very well done.

DesktopLinux.com has an excellent article titled: Hacking OpenSUSE. It details what is needed to truely make SUSE linux into a real desktop linux distro. Basically the article explains how to install some of the essentials like the Java JRE and how to set up SUSE to play Flash, RealMedia, Windows Media, MP3s and DVDs.

I think the help that I got from the article was from the part that describes how to add extra sources to YaST making software installation a breeze.
